Happy Belated New Year and welcome back to school and AKE!
Also, welcome again to our newest Year2s and Year3s who just joined us for our first practice last Wednesday.

Hope you've all had a good break during the December holidays.

As you should have known by now, practice have already started as per usual,
Wednesdays : 2.30pm - 6.30pm
Fridays : 1.30pm - 6.30pm (Except for the Muslim boys, at 2.30pm)

As a gentle reminder, you have been informed by the leaders as well as teachers that if you come for practice on time, we will also end on time.

Agenda 1: Percussion Workshop

Please be present and be punctual so that we do not waste precious practice time. This workshop will help everyone to prepare their playing skills for next year's SYF.

AKE-ians, our target is in sight. Let us work together towards this day and remember our common aim: GOLD WITH HONOURS. Also, encourage your friends to join us. Remember, having 24 people in an ensemble would only mean having to contribute a lot more to sound a lot better. So if you want to save yourself, you need to help build up AKE's manpower through asking your friends to join us A.S.A.P.

Don't worry, we'll treat them as family :D

We'll rally in as much people to join us, similar to our fourth agenda.

That is all from yesterday's discussion. Do take note that the Sabah trip slated for 23rd November has been cancelled due to certain feasibility issues. Even so, we shall look forward and focus on our progess towards next year's SYF. Build the momentum now! Be ready for next year because Ms Alicia expects us to be Performance Ready by March, which is about a month before SYF date itself.

For the year 1s, a piece of advice would be to spend your coming holidays wisely apart from devoting your time to AKE. Year 2 is going to be tough, with SYF and PW and all of the bombs coming down on you. Relax, i'm not trying to scare you, but it's good to be prepared mentally. And don't forget to connive, convince and cajoule your friends to join AKE! Even if it's only for SYF :D

For the year 2s, we realize 2010 hasn't really been good to us. However, we shall be optimistic because the future is for us to change, and we will always be there for each other. Don't hesitate to give your all for the coming H1 'A' Levels examination. Keep your focus on examinations for now okay! You are not required to be present for practices until your paper ends :)

Do not forget to bring the money for AKE fund for those who have not made any payments for the month of May til July!

For Monday, 16 August 2010:
Ili will end school at 3.45pm and after which she will open the room for those who wants any practice. Even though it is not compulsary, we hope you can come down to perfect your parts. :)

For Tuesday, 17 August:
Practice is COMPULSORY! It will starts at 4.30pm and will be the final run through before our presentation the next day. No excuses will be entertained. Those who end school later than 4.30pm, please inform your communication leaders so that they can update us. Please do not take your own sweet time to go to the room. We have limited time left. Ms Alicia will reach around 430pm or earlier.

Your QMs (Bazilah & Vino) will instructs you on the packing of instruments so that we will only have to bring down the instruments on Wednesday. For Muslims people, please do necessary arrangement as we might need to break fast in school as packing of instruments will only be done after practices and will drag time too.

*EVERYONE IS REQUIRED TO BRING YOUR COSTUMES ON TUESDAY!*
Your Costumes I/C (Belinda & Fitri) will go around to check and mark your names if you have brought. Please, this is compulsory too. Do not forget! (Black top, black pants, make-ups, hair gel, black shoe, cord shoe) Girls, your costumes i/c will update you on this day regarding the accessories for hair but before that just ensure that you have black hair band. Girls, bring pumps shoe if you are worried that wearing heels the whole day will tire you out. SLIPPERS are NOT ALLOWED.

Your Librarian I/C (Junyi) will settle the scores for all of you. Please co-operate with her when she ask for your scores. We will only bring around 5 files in total.

That's all for Tuesday but please work together so as we could maximize the time and end as early as possible for everyone to have a good rest for Wednesday. :)

SYF PRESENTATION DAY!

For Wednesday, 18 August 2010:

Only dinner will be provided. Rehearsal starts at 1100am, main rehearsal at 2pm. Performance at 0810pm. Leave at 8.30pm.

Our Welfare I/C (Nadia) will buy bread as snacks for the Muslims students to break fast but it will also be for the others too. Drinks will be bought there. There are places that are available for lunch from 12noon to 1pm.

0815 - 0830:
When assembly is over which is at 8.15am, please RUSH and get change to your AKE shirt/PE shirt and black pants. Then, be at AKE room at 8.30am latest.

0830 - 0900:
Please pass your black top and heels(girls) to your Costumes I/C (Belinda & Fitri) where they will keep it for the all of you neatly but ensure that you have tag/write your name at the back. Same goes to your AKE shirt as you will need to pass back to them once you have changed. Girls, please ensure that your make-ups, accessories are all packed in your own make-up pouch then pass it to Costumes I/C too. For boys, Jon will bring hair gels. All make-ups/hair-dos will be done there as we have a few hours to prepare which is enough. For your valuables (HP/wallets), please pass it to your Treasurer (Tiara) and she will keep it for you. No one is allowed to bring their own bags as we would like to minimize everything!

These are the things that are suppose to be passed to your Costumes I/C or Treasurer.

0900-0930:
Listen to instructions from your QMs (Bazilah & Vino). Do not disturb them when they are giving out instructions and doing their job. Remember, without the instruments we are not able to perform. The lorry will come at 0930am but be prepared as it can come earlier too. By 0920am, all instruments are expected to be down outside the General Office.

We know that it will be rushing but we need everyone co-operation to ensure that everything will go as what is planned. It's all about working together!

Our dear Costumes I/C is still waiting for a response from the supplier and so we do not know the exact price yet as extra payment need to be made for the printing of names. If the prices exceed the budget then we will leave it without names.

Please bring $20 for the t-shirt. By then, the prices should already be confirm.

Venue: Singapore Botanic Garden

There will be games that year 1s are going to lead and get everyone going! Those who have like twister or any board games, do bring along as well. This is a compulsory outing for both year 1 and 2s but we gladly appreciate if all year 3s could join in the fun too! Food are being catered from Lee Wee & Brothers' Foodstuff. Even so, we also do welcome those who wants to bring extra food or desserts from home. Plus, EVERYONE must look forward to Miss Alicia's homemade Chocolate Tofu Pie!

(Note: Those who have any plates, forks, spoons, serviettes, cups and picnic mats, kindly bring it. Thanks! Extra is always better.)

Hello MIAKEians. This announcement goes to all those helping out in the Zheng Hua CC Carnival on this coming Sunday (18 April 2010). All are to arrive at the location by 9.15am.

From CCK MRT Station, please take the LRT and alight at Segar Station. For those who do not know how to get there, please meet up at CCK MRT Control Station at 8.30am and Christina will be the one in-charge to lead you all there.

Overall In-Charge for this involvement will be Izzuddin and Belinda. Do give them your fullest cooperation. Do bring along your scores for two songs, which is Over The Rainbow and La Cumparsita. We will play Over the Rainbow first then followed by La Cumparsita.

The attire for Year 1s will be Orientation T-Shirt with School Pants/Skirts. The attire for Yr 2s and 3s will be AKE Shirt (White) with School Pants/Skirts. Please be punctual!

Duties:

· Introduce Angklung to the Community

Hello there to all AKEians. This is an invite to all the Seniors and current AKEians This Farewell Party have been organized by the current batch of Year 1s and 2s. As you have noticed, there are no specific theme to this party. So, you are allowed to dress however you like for this occasion. (Not too expressive HOR !!!).

In this Farewell Party, we wouldn't be just recognizing the Year 3s but also other important matters that you will only know once you come for the Party. There are other highlights too for example food, BBQ, games and entertainment, goodies and there is yet to come.

Hello people! This is Bahirah aka Bar Before B (the inside joke!) I am here to just remind you guys that our SYF will be in 2 days to be exact excluding the actual day. To be honest, i am as nervous and exciting as you guys. But no matter what, i know we can do our best, our aim is definately GWH, but whatever the result will be in the end, we must not leave with regrets as we have given our best shot.

WE MUST GIVE OUR BEST SHOT! WE HAVE TO MAKE MS ALICIA PROUD OF US! & FOR THE SENIORS WE HAVE TO DO IT FOR OUR DEAR MS WEE!

We have to prove to her that thanks to the foundation that we had before with her, we remember every detail of it till today with the result we produced.

For year 3s, Namely, faezah kurniawan diyana fatin wei xiang yuslinda hanis hidayah nurul sabrina jeslin amirah xin yi zuindah pearlyyn ayadi and yoyo (did i leave anybody?), take it as the last major performance that you are doing for MIAKE, you should be proud and must perform your upmost best to achieve what you want in the end without regrets. And as for year 2s and 1s, we must bring up our standard to a higher level and maintain it to make the school proud. I must say, we have practise alot and i am very proud of everyone of you (cehh!).

But what we must do is to maintain the timing of our performance, let the listeners feel our music, feel the music for ourself and most importantly to react to our dear ms alicia who have put in alot of effort in this competition.

For most precious time of 10mins for our competition, we must really be focused at every second of the time given. I really have confidence in you guys!

Dear AKE-ians, pls take note that you have to get a plain black court shoes for girls & black leather shoes for boys..pictures of the shoes can be found below..other than the designs shown below WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!! Pls get your shoes before tuesday as we need to wear it for our rehearsal at RP on tuesday..

Hey AKEians. This blog is done! I have made various changes as required. Hope you guys like it (:

By the way, you guys can check out the videos section. I have uploaded some videos credits to Asrida. There’s the Crimson Sun and also some from the MI Mart performance. I’ll upload more when I got more from her. So keep checking.

Before I end, I would like to wish happy Chinese New Year to the Chinese. Gong Xi Fa Cai. Wan Shi Ru Yi. Xin Nian Kuai Le. Bu Bu Gao Sheng. (I learnt this from my Chinese class. Hahaha. Sorry if I spelt wrongly or anything.) And to the non-Chinese, enjoy your long break!

Hello everyone. I made a new blogspot for the best CCA ever, the Angklung Kulintang Ensemble of Millennia Institute. A brand new site since I wasn’t able to get the username and password of the previous AKE website. Anyway, I hope the layout of this website is fine for all of you. If you like anything altered or you have better suggestions, please feel free to voice out your opinions and I will try my best which are within my abilities to make this site better. It's still under construction and I'm finding ways to improve this layout. Oh boy, I have become abit rusty in editing the template part since I moved my blog from blogger to livejournal =.= I took some information from the previous website though but I still need to gather more info like your full names year 2s.

So, don’t forget to leave a message on the tagboard people! And leave your links if you want to be link here.
